Loughcrew House is steeped in history and is a simply stunning wedding venue. Not only does it boast bohemian charm, it is set within 200 acres of picturesque rolling parkland – below the historic Loughcrew Hills near Oldcastle, County Meath, Ireland. Loughcrew is a place of calmness and serenity, despite being only an hour from Dublin and its international airport.
We only hold a small number of weddings at Loughcrew each year to ensure the venue remains special and unique and if you choose to have your wedding with us you will have exclusive use of the venue over the course of your stay. This includes the accommodation, function rooms and gardens. We can cater for small intimate weddings of less than 20 guests within the main house, up to 140 guests within the banqueting rooms as well as up to 250 guests in a marquee in the grounds.
Our wedding coordinator will work with you throughout the wedding planning process to ensure your wedding is tailored to you and your needs, and will be on hand on your big day and during your stay with us.
We have many spaces and amenities that can be used to facilitate your dream wedding, so the choice will be yours as to where you would like to hold the main events of your big day. Whether you want a more natural and rustic theme, or a crisp and polished one for your day, Loughcrew is a fabulous place to customise to create the perfect setting. One thing is for sure, you can guarantee that whatever look you choose, we are sure your guests will be blown away.

Ceremonies
There are so many spectacular spaces in which you could have your Civil, Humanist or Spiritualist ceremony at Loughcrew. Each location is unique and can be decorated to make it special to you.
If you’re wanting a spiritual feel to your ceremony then you could opt for the 17th century church in which St Oliver Plunkett and his family prayed. Or, if you could have an outdoor ceremony under the lime tree avenue just nearby. The palm house is perfect for intimate indoor ceremonies, as is the beautifully decorated Plunkett’s bar. Alternatively, the banqueting rooms are filled with light and offer the chance to have a bigger guest list.

Reception
Your wedding drinks and breakfast receptions are a chance for you to show your family and friends how much you love and appreciate them. They are also an excellent opportunity for everyone to spend quality time together and have some fun.
Loughcrew has a number of options as to where you can host your receptions which will be sure to impress your guests. The courtyard, Plunkett’s bar, the BBQ terrace and various spots throughout the gardens are available for your drinks reception. Whilst the banqueting rooms and St Oliver Plunkett’s church are unique spaces in which to host your wedding feast. Furthermore, if you have more than 140 guests we are able to ensure everyone is seated in a marquee on the lawn.
Accomodation
Loughcrew Getaway
We are able to accommodate the happy couple and 28 guest (plus a few extras) here at Loughcrew because we believe that being able to stay in close proximity to family and friends creates an intimate feel to a wedding. There is nothing better than exploring your surroundings and having a good catch up with friends and relations before the big day, and then having time to reminisce the day after.
All our accommodation is self catering unless you would like us to arrange a casual lunch or supper the day before the wedding, and breakfasts or brunches the day of it, and the day after. All the accommodation we have available has been designed and decorated by owner Emily Naper, and is complete with modern appliances. We are sure you will find Loughcrew a relaxed and comfortable home from home for you and your guests.
We can also accommodate guests in yurts in the grounds and there is plenty of local accommodation too.

We understand that under the changing restrictions planning your wedding can be a bit more challenging than usual. We have been working to facilitate fantastic weddings under the government’s restrictions so please get in touch with our team to find out if our options can work for you.
We offer a range of options and locations across the Loughcrew Estate to bring yur dream day to life while also staying within the current restrictions. With restrictions being in flux we are flexible with moving bookings and going the extra mile to ensure that should restrictions change, we will be there for you.
